Becoming a Trauma-Responsive
Educator: Summer Series

Decode what you see. Respond with what they need.

Because connection changes everything.

Summer is your chance to pause, reflect, and return stronger—with the clarity and tools to support every young person, especially the ones who need you most.

If you've ever found yourself asking:

  • "Why is this behavior happening?"

  • "What am I missing?"

  • "How do I respond in a way that actually helps?"

You're not alone—and this series is for you.

I'm Lizette Valles—a lifelong educator, microschool founder, and foster-adoptive mom. I've spent my career helping young people feel safe enough to learn and belong—and I believe that all behavior makes sense when we learn how to decode it.

This 5-week virtual summer series is for anyone raising or working with youth—educators, caregivers, homeschoolers, mentors, coaches, and community leaders—who want to demystify behavior, respond with compassion, and truly understand what's happening beneath the surface.

In this series, we'll explore how to:

  • Decode behavior through a trauma-informed lens

  • Recognize what the nervous system is trying to communicate

  • Respond with insight, empathy, and consistency

  • Foster relationships built on safety and trust

  • Stay grounded and well while supporting youth with big needs

You'll receive live coaching, a supportive cohort, and practical tools you can apply at home, in schools, and across any youth-serving environment.

This summer, invest in the clarity, care, and connection that help young people feel truly seen—and help you feel more confident in how you show up.

✨ All behavior makes sense. Let's learn how to decode it.
